From a cognitive/behavioral, family systems approach, Roger has been working with individuals, marriages, and families since 1980. His experience includes a broad spectrum of theraputic specialties ranging from premarital preparation, marital therapy and family of origin issues to business arbitration and professional relationships.
Roger is a recipient of the Bethel College Decade Award for Professional Achievement and has served as Adjunct Professor of Counseling at Puget Sound Christian College. His first book, "Intimate Deception" published by Multnomah Press was awarded Book of the Year by Cornerstone Magazine. He is also the author of "Your Family Voyage," and "Adult To Adult", both published by Fleming H. Revell Co., and "The Intimacy Cover-Up" published by Kregel Books and co-authored with his daughter, Karlyn.
A committed Christian, Roger is a popular speaker who deals with issues of family life in a practical and insightful way while integrating Biblical insight with psychological principles. A frequent speaker at conferences and retreats, Roger’s presentations are noted for their humor, practical application, and relaxed style. He has directed seminars and workshops across the United States, Europe and Asia for a wide variety of audiences ranging from churches, schools and professional organizations to the Boeing Corporation and the U.S. Armed Forces.
